Aerotek Production Supervisor in Alton, Illinois
Big portion of his job is to monitor micro results, pasteurize raw wheat flour because wheat his bacterial growth, their job is to pasteurize that flour so it can be used in baking
Send off to 3rd party lab for micro testing
o Day to day: varies, typical week this person would perform full sanitation cycle of the system, breaking down entire system and cleaning everything out (done by union hourly team members). Production sup directs team members on what equip they will clean each day and the prod sup will visually verify it’s clean and then take swabs to verify process. If that comes back good then they will do a sponge swab that will be sent to IEH labs to ensure they didn’t miss anything
o Once sanitation cycle is over then it will go into production cycle and the prod sup will move into sup of a system role. Good to have troubleshooting and equipment knowledge. Will take samples aseptically to send to 3rd party labs and work with transportation company to determine logistics.
o Very sterile/clean environment and they take this seriously
o Every other month they would be on night shift and alone, so need to be okay with this
o Run 24/7 operation, when they have a 4 person crew
o 7am-7pm: MT (off)WThF (on) SatSun Off MT on WThF (repeat X2)
Next month do the reverse (7pm-7am)

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
o Mechanically inclined as long as they are more of a hands-on type person. No need to have formal experience.
o Bachelors degree is a must
o 2 years Food manufacturing (so have understanding of gmp and food manufacturing processes)
o Science inclination is preferred
o Ideally want someone with leadership qualities
o Good communication (every shift change requires an email to be sent out for that shift coming in by the prod sup)
Self motivator (since working by self)
It’s okay if they are outgoing or by the book or no small talk, self motivator is most important
