Aerotek Firmware Engineer in Austin, Texas

Description:

Design and implement embedded firmware for real time operation and control.

Troubleshoot firmware related issues within complex systems.

Design from concept to implementation.

Document engineering requirements, document solutions, and test new firmware designs.

Test and troubleshoot issues.

Utilize Software Development Life Cycle including Agile methodology

Work under minimal supervision

bare metal

real time C firmware on small embedded micro

signal processing (IIR/FIR filters)

control theory (PID, feedback)

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

low level firmware developer (bare metal ‘C’, very good math skills)

Real time C firmware on a small embedded micro

understand some signal processing (IIR/FIR filters)

control theory (PID, feedback)

Other qualifications:

Experience in hands-on design, development and debugging in an embedded Linux environment

Strong understanding of C/C++ programming concepts

Linux application development experience

Familiarity with Linux shell scripting

Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms

Experience with development tools such as GCC, GDB, GNU Make, etc.

Experience with Git source code control
