Job Summary/Purpose : The Environmental Service Tech reports to the EVS Team Lead and/or Operations Manager. Under general supervision, the Environmental Service Tech – OR/ER provides a surgically clean environment conducive to positive outcomes for the surgical patient, prevents cross contamination and provides a safe environment for the patients and staff. This role performs duties in accordance with JCAH standard, OSHA, CDC EPA, SC DHEC guidelines and regulations; as well as meeting guidelines of the Association of Operating Room Nurses for the cleaning of the Operating Room Suites, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and adjacent areas to the operating room. This position has authorization to have limited and incidental access to areas in the hospital where medications are stored. All appropriate hospital medication safety and security policies must be adhered to.

Minimum Training and Education: A high school diploma.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Some positions require the possession of a valid driver’s license.
