Kforce has a client in search of a Database Administrator in Charlotte, NC.Duties:

• Participates in designing and implementing database systems and programs

• Responsible for developing and administering access methods, device allocation, and security

• Participates in database planning and provides inputs on the selection of methods used for database system integration

• Interfaces with all levels of management to assist in resolving database issues and needs

• May act as a first level supervisor and review, mentor, and evaluate the performance of individual team members

• Will determine new methods and develop new procedures for accomplishing work

• Perform backups and database recovery

• Develop data requirements and configure database parameters accordingly

• Effectively relate their technical expertise to varying organizational needs; Knows when and how the technical content can be legitimately tailored to fit different departments and customer needs

• Develops unique strategies to promote the effectiveness of the workgroup

• Efficiently applies topical knowledge and expertise to make significant solutions for customer groups and the entire business

• Recognizes the value of a multi-industry perspective and applies best practices to create innovative solutions

• Takes the initiative to act on issues

• Consistently seeks to develop self and skills needed to be prepared for future opportunities and be among the best in their field

• Bachelor of Science degree and 8 years of experience or equivalent experience

• Knowledge of enterprise data architecture principles

• Knowledge of data system platforms and database programming languages and tools

• Expert knowledge in access methods, device allocation, database trends and administration methods, and data security principles and standards

• Knowledge of industry best practices for design and deployment

• Knowledge of standards applications in physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security
