Cargill Shipping/Receiving Operator in Charlotte, North Carolina

This Full-time position is in Charlotte, North Carolina; however please expect receiving calls from a 952 area code in case you are considered. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Shift: 3rd Shift

Salary: Starting pay $20.03 per hour + $0.45 of Shift Differential. After 120 days probation period the salary will go to $21.03 per hour + $0.45 of Shift Differential.

Operators in this position are responsible for the safe, effective and efficient operations of fork lifts while loading and unloading trucks, production lines, and storage racks. Individuals in this role use electronic warehouse management systems with radio frequency (RF) technology to inspect and document.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Adheres to schedules in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Conducts bin to bin transfers.

  • Performs put away/shipping/receiving related tasks.

  • Conducts and accurately documents all required inspections and checks.

  • Properly operates the current electronic warehouse management systems and RF units and any other related software.

  • Actively demonstrates team work through clear communication (verbal/written) with coworkers and supervisors.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility.

  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending and lifting up to 50lbs safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Must be able to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment.

  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written).

  • High School diploma or Equivalent.

  • Basic use of a computer and typing skills.

  • Working knowledge of inventory systems.

  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice.


  • Able to perform physical job duties which may include kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word.

  • Prior experience in production related work.
