ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF)

The Foundation Grants Manager will be responsible for effective and efficient Foundation operations and manage grants through their lifecycle and ensure proper due diligence for Foundation and corporate grants. The successful candidate will have substantial experience managing processes and projects, have relevant software expertise, work effectively across multiple teams, and have a strong community relations orientation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manage workflow process for all types of grants, ensuring impeccable timeliness and accuracy of all relevant data fields

  • Master, configure and manage software to meet requirements and ensure data integrity, including interface with general ledger software; ensure teammates are properly trained and supported.

  • Develop, maintain, and ensure proper grants management procedures are in place and consistently followed, including but not limited to due diligence procedures, grant reporting, award letters, grant agreements, and budget appropriations

  • Provide reporting and analysis, including external benchmarking surveys

  • Assist foundation leadership in developing and reviewing grant proposals

  • Oversee nonstandard grant transactions and anomalies related to grantmaking

  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, including the finance/accounting, program officers, CROs, market leaders and administrators to insure efficient and effective processing of all grants

  • Lead the team in providing excellent customer service to community partners

  • Supervise grant payment process and grantee award letters

  • Oversee and ensure all multi-year grants are entered and tracked appropriately

  • Design reports, provide grant reporting and analysis

  • Coordinate compliance with IRS regulations and the foundation's requirements for grantmaking

  • Manage continuous improvement projects

  • Other duties as assigned

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Serve as a KeyBank brand ambassador

  • Support special projects and initiatives as needed for Corporate Responsibility team

  • Oversee employee matching gift and leadership programs

  • Evaluate software and manage RFP processes as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 years of grant management, project management or related experience

  • Substantial experience with grants management software (Blackbaud Grantmaking preferred)

  • Proven ability to track and manage several projects and processes simultaneously

  • Highly effective oral and written communicator with the ability to adapt to a wide range of communication styles

  • Experience with Excel, Powerpoint, Tableau, and SharePoint

  • Must be able to prepare documents and compose business correspondence and policies and procedures

PREFERRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and mastery of basic accounting concepts

  • Strong skills managing people, processes, and timelines

  • High level of demonstrated accuracy

  • Exceptionally motivated, organized and detail-oriented; team player with a willingness to help where required

  • Ability to work both under supervision and independently

  • Professionalism and discretion

  • Demonstrated experience implementing relevant software
