Olive Network Engineer in Columbus, Ohio

The Network Engineer will be responsible for deploying a variety of network infrastructure equipment, working with telecommunications carriers, provisioning connectivity for Olive offices, and generating, updating, and maintaining documentation and network diagrams.

To be a successful candidate, you will need to have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware. You will also need to be able to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and VOIP systems. A deep knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols is highly desired.

  • Support WAN connections and determine circuit capacity requirements for Olive networks across multiple remote locations (thus, travel to other U.S. cities will be required at times)

  • Provide client capacity planning support consisting of data analysis, requirements verification, and providing client recommendations

  • Work closely with project and account managers to support remote location network requirements

  • Provide network design documentation to project teams and peers

  • Perform support to resolve network issues and support the implementation of new network solutions

  • Participate in the integration of products with Azure services

  • Conduct product evaluation and testing, and support application development teams.

  • Support maintenance window activities when required

  • Build and maintain relationships with global teams and third parties to address network development and support issues

  • Participate in the development, testing and QA functions to ensure project delivery.

  • Provide technical support to ensure timely problem resolution

  • Protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and other network and system problems

  • Replace faulty network hardware components when required

  • Work with the Information Security team to ensure Olive security requirements are met, and provide technical assistance for investigation and analysis of security alerts

  • Monitor the status of site ISPs and network hardware and report and resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Perform necessary maintenance to support servers and network availability

  • Lead infrastructure projects and manage/lead technical support staff efforts as needed

  • Monitor Service desk work queue(s), and proactively resolve reported issues to ensure service level agreements are kept

  • Capable of performing duties on all shifts, holidays and weekends

  • Work within the scope of Change Control, and keep established SLA guidelines

  • Document workflows, processes, and procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5 years of experience with a service provider or hyperscale network in engineering or design roles

  • Experience with managing, deploying, and recommending solutions for VOIP systems

  • Experience developing/recommending networking products, technologies, software and protocols

  • Experience with SDWAN, ACLs, stateful firewalls and NAT

  • Experience with Aruba networking hardware (e.g., switches, gateways/controllers, APs)

  • Experience with NAC solutions. Aruba ClearPass preferred

  • Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems

  • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with excellent communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive

  • Coordinate with various teams to understand partner teams requirements and deliver designs based on those

  • Experience in network routing protocol design and troubleshooting L2, L3, VLANs, VRRP, RSTP, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS
