SECURITY OFFICER II - TMPPT5120 (JOB ID: 20856)Location: US:NH:CONCORDCategory: ENFORCEMENT PROTECT and INSTITUTIONEmployment Type:Post Date: 06/07/2021Close Date: 06/21/2021Salary: 16.730-16.730 USDState of New Hampshire Job PostingDepartment of SafetyDivision of State Police - Campus Patrol Unit33 Hazen Drive Concord NH 03305PART TIMESECURITY OFFICER IIPosition #TMPPT5120Labor Grade 14$16.73 per hourThe State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of State Police - Campus Patrol Unit has a PART TIME vacancy for Security Officer II.SCOPE OF WORK: To provide security coverage at the NH Hospital lobby providing general services to patients, residents, employees, and citizens.ACCOUNTABILITIES:Monitors and maintains lobby security and safety at NH Hospital.Enforces state and federal law pertaining to all individuals on NH Hospital controlled property.Enforces NH Hospital policies and procedures pertaining to patients, staff and visitors while on NH Hospital controlled property.Prepares written reports such as daily logs and incident reports relating to security and safety matters.Serves staff, patients and visitors whenever practicable to provide for their safety and welfare.Complies with all NH Hospital, state and federal rules and regulations.Operates hand-held and/or stand-alone metal detector unit in searching for contraband to include, but not limited to: knives, guns, needles unlabeled drugs, drug paraphernalia, alcohol, weapons, toxic substances, explosives, instruments of escape, cigarette and tobacco products, nicotine delivery devices, pipes, matches and lighters.Uses good discretion when it comes to searching visitors to NH Hospital, whether their person or their property.Maintains professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with policies.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:High School diploma or high school equivalency credential. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.Experience:Two years experience in law enforcement work as a NH certified police officer or accepted certification by Police Standards and Training Council, or as a security officer, a correctional officer, active military or veteran with honorable discharge, or combination of positions, that would evidence possession of the requisite skills necessary for satisfactory performance at this level.License/Certification:Valid New Hampshire drivers license.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:1.A thorough character investigation and reference check, to include fingerprint based background check and a review of criminal and motor vehicle records, will be conducted before appointment. Candidates who do not have good character or a conviction free record of serious offenses will be ineligible for appointment.2. Must be at least 21 years of age at appointment.3. Physical exam is required upon offer of employment.PREFERRED WORK TRAITS:Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of law enforcement and security procedures. Ability to enforce laws in accordance with standard procedure to control pilfering and damage to State property. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to work with people and secure their cooperation without the use of violence. Ability to use judgment when searching a visitor to NH Hospital, whether the person or their property. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with employees, residents, other law enforcement agencies and the general public.
