PayPal Root Cause Data Analyst in Dublin 15, Ireland

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop SQL queries in order to bring structure and insights to complex datasets.

  • Discover, Understand and interpret trends in complaints volumes and its correlated drivers.

  • Communicate findings from data and analysis to peers and senior stakeholders.

  • Develop ad-hoc Tableau Dashboards to analyse and share insights.

  • Participates in discussions, proposes and evaluate solutions to system and product changes that are directly related to their area of focus.

  • Deliver strong SQL development and maintenance techniques surrounding data movement.

  • Work cross-functionally with business leaders, SMEs, product, engineering, data services, design, and other teams to gain valuable insights that will lead to product and business decisions and opportunities.

  • Prepare, dissect, clean and combine large datasets for Machine Learning models pipelines.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 3+ years working in data analysis, data engineer or a similar role in large enterprise data warehouse teams preferred.

  • Experience with PayPal Merchant Services preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Good understanding of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence Application Design & Development.

  • Use of Python with Database tools such as Hive/Hadoop or Teradata preferred.

  • Possess knowledge of data warehouse architectures, ETL, reporting/analytic tools, and data security & compliance.

  • Basic understanding of classical Machine Learning Algorithms.

  • NLP and text based AI models experience preferred.
