null In this role, you have the opportunity to
Contribute to the Speech Enhancement Software library of Philips Intellectual Property & Standards (IP&S). IP&S licenses this library to manufacturers of hands-free communication terminals and smart home devices using speech as input. In the department “Digital Standardization Research”, you will join our team of audio signal processing experts. Being part of the team, you will support broadening our speech enhancement software library by developing new (adaptive) signal algorithms and/or developing new AI networks in the area of acoustic echo cancellation, noise suppression and dereverberation. Evaluation of these algorithms / networks in practical circumstances will be an important part of your role.
You are responsible for
developing new algorithms / AI networks for speech enhancement.
contributing to the joined algorithmic speech enhancement library (written in C).
taking care that these algorithms are suitable for implementation on a real-time embedded device.
experimenting with the new algorithms / networks in our lab rooms to improve the robustness in real practice.
supporting pre-sales in discussions with external customers, explaining our algorithms.
The location of this position is the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, The Netherlands
You are a part of
the “Digital Standardization Research” department within Philips Research Eindhoven. In this department, we support IP&S in extracting value out of Philips’ large patent portfolio. We are strongly involved in the creation of novel standards, both in the consumer and healthcare space, and support for licensing and litigation. The other part of the group focusses on signal processing, both in the traditional Audio-Video domain, and for challenging Healthcare applications mainly aiming at the extraction of vital sign information, such as heart rate, breathing rate and blood pressure. To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
A MSc/PhD degree in electronics, computer science or related.
Solid theoretical or operational knowledge of (adaptive) signal processing and/or deep learning.
Motivated to apply this knowledge in the development of speech enhancement algorithms.
Pragmatic, hands-on attitude.
Motivated to contribute to a common (algorithmic) SW library.
Good knowledge of tools like C and Python.
Knowledge of embedded computer architectures for signal processing is a pre.
Good conceptual skills.
Strong collaboration skills / team player mentality.
Excellent (English) communication skills.
