Reporting to the Global Automation Operation Manager, the Project Management Office (PMO) Manager leads and oversees Automation projects across the regions. This position is a Remote Nationwide Ireland. He or she also ensures that all team members uphold the Celestica Global Automation's standards throughout each project's development and execution. The PMO manager provides guidance on PMO policies, processes and collaborating with Sites leaders to develop projects and programs. This is a very dynamic and fast-paced work environment. A high degree of leadership and commitment is essential.


  • Drives functional excellence initiatives.

  • Liaise and coordinate with key business partners to strategically align projects and programs through portfolio review management to deliver maximum portfolio value.

  • Implement a project management culture within the business through leadership, organisation, coordination and the creation of relevant internal and external mentoring and training programs.

  • Collaborating with sites leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects.

  • Providing CAPEX financial reports and budget outlines to Executives.

  • Overseeing the progress of the projects and ensuring that Sites Project Owners are carrying out their tasks efficiently adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines while upholding the Celestica Global Automation's standards.

  • Institutes and coordinates a robust governance model to maximise project delivery success and minimise execution risk

  • Drafting new and improving existing project management office policies and processes.

  • Proactively oversee changes in project scope, identify potential risk, and advise on contingency plans.

  • Proactively manage and address Internal and External Customer expectations.

  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.

  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

  • Conduct project post mortems meetings in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

  • Acts as an escalation point; drives collaboration with program and project team members to resolution.

  • Foster and develop a team community which allows the team members to effectively share information and collaborate on Automation solutions and project issues.

Position Requirements:

  • 5 Years minimum direct work experience in a Technical project management role.

  • Demonstrated track record of managing a portfolio of major projects. (+$5M).

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) a must; certified Agile or Prince 2 is an asset.

  • Strong familiarity with PMO governance.

  • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as smartsheet, Microsoft project.

  • Proficient in Power Point, Visio, Excel & World.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Engineering, or related field of study.

  • Familiar with Solidwork, AutoCAD and Design in general in advantage.

  • Technically competent with various Automated Equipment and processes.

  • Experience with managing Automation solution provider/ Machine builder, preferable.

  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.

  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.

  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.

  • Ability to bring projects to successful completion through political sensitivity.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills. (English)

  • Strong leader and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.

  • Customer service skills is an asset.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

  • Strong attention to details and technicalities.

  • Excellent organizational and technical skills

  • Service minded and courageous.


  • 5-8 years of Project Management experience required, with projects in the $5M range. (Preferably with a machine builder)

  • Engineering degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics.

  • Certified PMP preferred

Work Conditions: Some travel will be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management. (15% global travel).
