BU Training Manager

At Pilgrim’s, Safety Is A Condition, which means the safety of our team members comes first - always.

We have implemented safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are working to ensure social distancing within our facility. We have installed physical barriers throughout our facility such as plexi-glass or plastic barriers between team member work stations. Each day, temperature screens are performed for each employee and visitor before entering the facility. Face coverings are provided and required over the mouth and nose at all times when inside the facility, and enhanced cleaning and sanitation is regularly performed.

Pilgrim's is seeking an HR Training Manager to create, deliver, and implement training of front line/mid-level management leaders at the plant production levels. Enhance talent development throughout the business unit through designated training programs. Person may be located at one of our case ready facilities or remotely and travel as needed to those facilities – Cold Spring, MN, DeQueen, AR and Lufkin, TX!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and training of supervisors and lead employees.

  • Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.

  • Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.

  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, and in person.

  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with management, and maintaining them over time.

  • Partner with the operations team to provide ongoing training and development.

  • Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.

  • Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training and personal development classes.

  • Plan, develop, and provide training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.

  • Confer with management and conduct surveys to identify training needs.

  • Train instructors and supervisors in techniques and skills for training and communicating with employees.

  • Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.

  • Develop testing and evaluation procedures.

  • Assists with production (including printing and assembly) and distribution of training materials and managing inventory of those materials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Travel approximately 75% of the time

  • 3 to 5 years of management, training and/or HR experience desired

  • Bachelor degree preferred, but not required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Training experience required

  • Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
