Abacus Technology Cyber Security Specialist in Manchester, Tennessee
Abacus Technology is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to support security and information assurance activities for the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) at Arnold AFB. This is a full-time position.
Implement a standard AFB/unit level Cybersecurity program for the protection of DoDIN resources, i.e., Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet), Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet), telephone, LMR, and all other standard base level IT and communications systems. Provide security support for base level systems to include telephone, LMR, NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and all IT systems connected to NIPRNet and SIPRNet. Provide cybersecurity services that promote and encourage the effective management and control of sensitive and classified information, including data and voice communications. Set up, configure and support all internal and/or external IT systems and networks using applicable DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). Provide an initial and thereafter quarterly STIG compliance update for each hardware and software asset and all infrastructure components. Establish a cybersecurity incident response team in order to respond to cybersecurity events. Develop and maintain all systems, applications, security and network configurations by troubleshooting server and network performance issues to resolve problems. Defend against network intrusion per DoD, DISA, and USAF guidance, and ensure all suspected or known intrusions, attempted intrusions, suspected attacks, and suspected or actual Category events 0-9 are immediately mitigated and reported to the WCO and the MCCC. Design and implement secure IT architecture. Track and maintain Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) reporting requirements for AEDC. Support vulnerability scanning and correct vulnerabilities on all BCITS managed systems, applications, networks, and connected systems/networks as required by the Authorization to Operate. Implement current DoD and NIST 800-series Security Controls on all IT systems, networks and applications. Operate and maintain IT systems, networks, and applications in accordance with DoD and AF IA policies. Ensure all users of IT systems and services comply with IA directives. Provide technical and administrative assistance to AEDC/TSDIA and AEDC end users with regard to day-to-day IA issues and tasking. Support the WCO on all cybersecurity issues across the base by providing services, status, configuration change and configuration change management, and artifacts. Accomplish A&A activities using AF-approved processes, procedures, and tools. Support A&A of DT&E and Civil Engineering networks by providing services, status, configuration change and configuration change management, artifacts, and support for the operation and A&A of those networks. Ensure that all solutions meet the requirements of the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
3+ years experience in a cyber security role. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Must be Security+ CE certified. CPA and LRA certification or training. ACAS certification or training. Experience operating in a Federal, Intelligence, or DoD IT program organization. Experience working with information securing and information assurance requirements, architecting security solutions, and assessing the operations of deployed security solutions. Experience assessing an organization’s current Cyber Security operations and identifying actionable improvements. Experience assessing the cyber security posture across the complete IT ecosystem including enterprise software and systems, networks, hosting environments, and end devices, and identifying prioritized actions to be taken to reduce risk. Experience assessing and embedding cyber security processes and principles in all life cycle phases of IT software and systems, from the perspective of developer, hosting operator, portfolio manager, and functional owner. Experience assessing vulnerabilities and securing systems from cyber attacks. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
