Reporting to the Assistant Director of Benefits and Director of Human Resources Operations, the Human Resources, Benefits Specialist provides administrative support within the Benefits discipline and will be responsible for answering general inquiries regarding Benefits. Additionally, this role provides assistance with a wide range of projects and coordination of activities that will require the ability to work with minimal supervision, while ensuring a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality to comply with applicable laws and policies.

This is an on-site position and not eligible for remote work

Typical Physical/Mental Demands:

Requires mobility. Requires prolonged sitting, standing, and walking. Ability to push and/or pull cabinet weighing up to fifteen pounds. Eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to distinguish letters, symbols, and colors. Normal vision and hearing range.

Typical Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an office environment; and ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality. Flexible hours may be necessary based on operational needs.

Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following):

  • Respond to general benefits inquiries regarding Company Benefits including Health & Welfare programs, COBRA, 401(k), Team Member parking, and leaves of absence. Monitor Benefits Inboxes daily.

  • Executes a wide variety of audits including insurance and 401(k) beneficiary audits, non-union and union insurance audits, etc.

  • Assists with annual Open Enrollment and coordinating monthly wellness events including communication with vendors, logistics, advertising, etc.

  • Assist with Team Member parking inquiries and registration.

  • Approve Team Member enrollment/changes through the HRIS/Benefits Enrollment Portal, ensure appropriate documentation is collected.

  • Assist with review of benefits summaries, SPDs, and communication flyers. Responsible for keeping information on the Benefits Enrollment Portal up to date.

  • Conduct monthly benefits invoice audits and ensure timely process for payment.

  • Maintain electronic Team Member files with benefits information.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Performance Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities):

  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook; knowledge of HRIS, specifically Paycom, preferred.

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and the ability to respond to common inquiries in a fast-paced and high volume environment while maintaining confidentiality.

  • Must be deadline-driven with the ability to manage multiple projects and assignments.

  • Must be able to work independently while remaining Team-focused with an ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

  • Additional language highly preferred.


Requires a High school diploma or equivalent.


1 - 3 years administrative experience, human resources/hotel preferred.
