Aerotek Animal Care Technician in Seattle, Washington

The Lab Animal Care Technician is responsible for:

• Care for large animals in accordance with standard operating procedures including: cleaning and sanitizing animal enclosures, feeding animals (standardized and prescribed diets), assuring that animals have fresh water at all times, transferring animals to clean caging, performing complete housekeeping duties in animal housing areas and surrounding premises, performing laundry cleaning services and bathing and socializing of the animals.

• Prepare large animal primary enclosures, inspect newly arrived animals for general health, report abnormalities to the Manager or Veterinarian for evaluation.

• Identify animals according to SOPs and maintain accurate records of animal identification, daily room tallies and labor allocation.

Top Skills Details:

  • Candidates must have at least a high school diploma and some animal handling/husbandry experience.

  • Candidates must be comfortable tending to research animals (specifically canines).

  • Animal experience includes: vet assistant experience, cage washing, feeding, cleaning, etc. (not doing animal procedures or lab work in this role)
