We seek a Compute Operational Engineer with proficiency in designing, implementing, and monitoring Linux infrastructure . You will become an integral part of the team, making every problem of the platform a problem of your own, and solving them accordingly. You will help tune performance and ensure the high availability of Linux infrastructure. will interface with customers, program security, and management teams in planning for, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux services and systems. You will Install, maintain, and support multiple Linux-based servers on physical and virtual platforms in support of program initiatives. You will execute troubleshooting skills to address stability objectives both reactively and proactively. You will maintain a secure computing environment, including adherence to backup schedules, patching, virus updates, and regular security scanning and remediation.
What You'll Do
Serve as a contact for Linux support requests
Serve as an escalation contact for complex support requests involving Linux
Provide Linux architectural expertise and guidance
Troubleshoot and resolve Linux related hardware and software problems in a timely manner
Capable of managing Licensing servers for the various virtual platform
The candidate should be capable of taking accountability for applying, implementing, maintaining, and examining the documentation of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (https://www.fieldengineer.com/skills/mcse-desktop-infrastructure)
The chosen candidate will be required to take part in the installation, patching, and upgrading of the applications in the environment
The candidate should be capable to strengthen the apps, the Windows server, and the principal operating system
The candidate should be capable of providing technical assistance for all the servers, desktops, and services that apply business
The candidate should have experience utilizing ServiceNow to manage incident, request, and change activity
What You'll Need
Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of Experience with Linux technologies
Familiarity with DB administration, network administration, or system administration experience
System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields are a plus
Experience with the operations of Linux servers in virtualized environments
Experience with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages
Experience with load balancing, firewalls, etc.
Experience with virtualization technologies, such as Xen
Ability to build and monitor services on production servers
Knowledge of servers and switches
Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including experience with service and change management frameworks.
Experience with Linux scripting and automating tools is a plus.
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Bind, Apache, MySQL, nginx, etc. is a plus.
Familiarity with configuration management solutions such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates, etc. is a plus.
