Lighthouse Academies is a not for profit charter school management organization, currently operating public charter schools in Arkansas and Indiana. Who We’re Seeking

We are seeking a Director of Data Strategy and Analytics to lead the vision, direction, and implementation of Lighthouse Academies’ data strategy. The director will play a critical role in advancing Lighthouse Academies to meet its strategic goals and increase its impact on educational equity across regions. By providing data-driven problem solving, the director will empower our regional and national teams to strategically utilize data in service of our goals. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, strategic thinker, a strong communicator, and an intuitive collaborator who has a demonstrated track record of distilling complex education datasets into clear, compelling, and actionable key take-aways.


  • Set vision and direction for data and analytics at Lighthouse Academies by leading data and analytics strategy and supporting a data driven culture across the network

  • Coordinate the collection, validation, storage, and analysis of academic, culture, and staff and student survey data to discover and distill proof points of excellence aligned to our strategic priorities

  • Drive data analysis discussions with network, regional and school-based leadership teams, ensuring that teams can understand data, predict progress to goals and anticipate outcomes, and intervene as needed in the pursuit of strategic goals

  • Create and improve summative reports, data visualizations and dashboards for network data, trends, and recommendations

  • Translate data from multiple sources to make recommendations and ensure products are meaningful, accurate and accessible to all stakeholders

  • Facilitate training and support of regional and network leaders on using data systems and interpreting data reports to drive decisions to improve outcomes for students

  • Respond to ad hoc reporting requests from network and school leaders with timely, accurate and actionable data

  • Oversee the annual satisfaction survey cycle, from creation and management to analysis

    Skills & Requirements


  • Robust data analysis skills, including distilling large datasets and complex trends into accessible, user-friendly data

  • Entrepreneurial spirit with strategic and creative problem-solving strategic skills

  • Strong written, oral, and visual communication skills

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively in person and in remote settings

  • Advanced proficiency with database design, data visualization and dashboard tools

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office required, including Excel and PowerPoint

  • Proficiency in Google Suite, including Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides

  • Proficiency in Tableau, SPSS, and/or SAS preferred

Background and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

  • Study or prior work experience in mathematics, analytics, and/or statistics

  • Experience with K-12 education data, including common Learning Management Systems (Powerschool) and data sets

Other Requirements

  • Reliable transportation and travel to local schools required (up to 40%)

  • Travel to other network schools required (up to 10%)
