Summary:
The role holder will join a team of a world-class, multi-disciplinary team of researchers and development engineers developing the future of AR/VR displays and help take them to production. The role will be responsible for engaging and driving operational readiness at an external partner to deliver a world class operational model ensuring the uLEDteam has the resources and support available to meet product milestone objectives, support product development and enable cross functional activities.The Operational Lead will be responsible to keep the development team updated on operational readiness issues that may impact program development and readiness. This role requires close collaboration with Product Managers, Engineering, Finance, and other Operations teams to bring an Operational mindset to product development. This role will own the Operational aspects of product launch including capex budgeting, factory readiness and weekly New Product Review meetings with Leadership during the product ramp phase.This role is located at our Plymouth UK partner location.
Required Skills:
Assesses, analyzes, consolidates, and communicates risk and status clearly and succinctly to management, calling out key issues and presenting options for resolution to the cross-functional executive and program teams
Actively participates in HW Engineering design discussions and steer solutions to align with market fit/expectations while hitting milestone and cost goals
Ensure the successful launch of products while meeting stated cost, quality, schedule, and availability goals
Lead ramp availability with GSM, Quality, Engineering and other internal and external teams
Work with our partner to ensure security, materials, equipment, fixtures, staffing, training and documentation plans are ahead of the product ramp
Work closely with Product Managers and Technical Program Managers to define Key Performance Indicators and Product Requirement Documents to enable successful architecture and design locks while meeting product development timelines
Liaison across multiple cross-functional teams to ensure product cost, manufacturability, reliability, product quality, safety and compliance, and go-to-market strategies are met
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
15+ years management experience in semiconductor wafer manufacturing and / or assembly operations and/or process engineering
Proven subject matter expert in industrial semiconductor process R&D and/or manufacturing
Proven track record in scaling a leading edge technology product from prototype to high volume
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or similar equivalent experience at senior management level
Operations experience in optoelectronics or optical display manufacturing
