QA Laboratory Technician (2101205) – Washington, NJ
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible, under the direction of the QC Manager and the Senior Laboratory technician, to perform analytical analyses on various process streams, on finished products, raw materials, and product shipments. You will record and evaluate the test data obtained and reports the results as appropriate.
Primary responsibilities include:
Complies with all applicable GMP, ISO, and RCMS requirements.
Duties include hazardous waste management activities
Analysis of Operations provided samples
Manage the accumulation labeling, inspection and storage of hazardous waste generated in the Laboratory
Basic emergency response as it applies to laboratory hazardous waste spills
Handles equipment which comes into contact with hazardous substances. Participates in site drills for emergency preparedness, responds to incidents involving hazardous substances
Performs variety of chemical and physical laboratory tests, both standard and non-standard in nature, to obtain information necessary for the development and/or quality assurance of products
Records observations and data from experiments performed and makes routine calculations. Prepares reports covering work
Interprets routine lab results and decides if they are acceptable, and notifies appropriate department of pertinent findings
Assembles, tests and operates a variety of laboratory apparatus and related equipment, as required, to satisfy assignments
Occasionally devises tests and procedures to solve problems where no specific methodology exists
Responsible for maintenance of all lab equipment. This includes minor repair work as needed
Assists in the introduction of new test procedures and/or use of new analytical equipment
Works shift schedule, as requested, or upon assignment
Performs various special assignments, as directed, as well as other miscellaneous functions normally associated with assignment of lab technicians
Responsible for laboratory organization, upkeeping and cleanliness
Observes all safety rules and regulations in the plant and laboratory areas. Maintains laboratory area and equipment in an orderly and safe condition
Attends monthly plant safety meetings and participates in functions of this nature

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For In You…
BS or Associates degree in Chemistry or a science related field required.
3 years of experience with knowledge of equipment (laboratory and related apparatus), tests, and specifications of current products and various approaches to solution of assignments, recording of data and preparation of reports.
SAP experience is preferred
Analytical testing method experience preferred
Basic understanding of theory, operation, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation such as gas chromatographs, viscometers, spectrophotometers, pH meters, titrators.
